In the Super Vee Lite class, Force Boats finished first, with Connelly Performance Boats and Random filling the remaining podium positions. Offshore Superboat Championships race director Russell Embleton said he was extremely happy with the inaugural event on Sydney Harbour. 'There were no issues with race operations and everything today went accordingly to plan', Mr Embleton said. 'The sport of offshore powerboat racing has been very warmly welcomed by the people of Sydeny...the crowds were just amazing - certainly the largest we've seen for a powerboat race in this country. 'Sydney Harbour has definately proved itself as a perfect race destination, for competitors and spectators alike, and is well worthy to hose a leg of the World Powerboat Championship.' The sixth and final round of this season's Offshore Superboat Championships will be held in Townsville in June. visit Powerboat Racing on line for more information. |
