Description
Tumlaren, Classic 27' timber yacht, perfect for club racing, Exquisitely proportioned one design wooden yacht with timeless looks ,in fact a real head turner at any yacht club, Sailed in various fleets and admired around the world since 1934. Easily sailed by three people they are noted for their exceptional windward performance and thrilling surfing ability with terrific balance and steady helm. Ellida is currently owned by a professional yachtsman /rigger / sail maker she is ready and willing to race (winner of numerous regattas /often sailed just two handed)) or just potter about with some family and friends for a day sail. Douglas fir planking above water line and jarrah below on spotted gum ribs, lead keel with 51% ballast ratio, new full boat cover, Beautifully cut cream Dacron main, genoa and jib. Red spinnaker. The current owner is a sail maker/ rigger and the quality of the sails is excellent. They were made in 2004 and have been maintained and carefully stored and only used in regattas and classic yacht events
Spruce mast and new boom ,spinnaker pole. The running rigging has been regularly replaced with quality braided ropes.The standing rigging is also in very good condition and regularly tuned
The bottom has been annually sanded back ,re primed and anti fouled with Micron Extra, (note : no build up of layers of old anti foul)
