New Ocean 74, enclosed flybridge Motor Yacht, beautifully presented one owner with all the bells and whistles
New Ocean 74 enclosed flybridge motor yacht, 80’ LOA with extended swim platform, 2009 Model, twin Caterpillar C15 acerts (865hp); this beautifully presented one owner boat would pass as new, such is the attention to detail, with the fussiest maintenance program I have ever seen. The log book shows that it is professionally cleaned after every trip, waxed every 8 weeks and every receipt from day one is available. The layout is well thought out with a generous saloon & dining area complete with gourmet galley designed by the multiple restaurant owning chef. Rich honey Camphor Burl and Marble finishes are accented with neutral coloured leathers and soft furnishings, while stainless steel appliances, including the full size fridge, oven and internal staircase structure ensure a solid modern nautical feel. Excellent headroom and large panoramic windows make this large space feel light, airy and welcoming. The l saloon doors open onto an entertainer’s cockpit with teak decks and built in u-shaped lounge & dining table. This area leads either down to the massive swim platform, up to the flybridge outdoor lounge area, or along the wide walk around decks to the bow lounge. The fully enclosed flybridge has a comprehensive well laid out helm with a full array of Raymarine electronics, as you would expect on a boat of this calibre, including: 2 x 12” screens, radar, autopilot, anchor chain counter, hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, remote spotlight, VHF, CCTV Cameras, intercom and two leather pompanette helm seats. The skipper doesn’t have to be alone on this boat, with an indoor and outdoor lounge right behind the helm, a bonus upper bar complete with fridge and barstools make this a favourite zone for cruising. Once again the vistas won’t be missed with plenty of large windows and good headroom. This set up offers the best of both worlds up top; the enclosed helm and lounge portion means the flybridge is good in colder or wet conditions with no annoying, maintenance sapping clears, or canvas to worry about; yet just a few metres away is a generous outdoor lounge suitable for 8 or more people. Accomodation for 10 consists of 5 cabins made up of: the huge king size full beam master with double ensuite, walk in wardrobe, vanity and lounge. The Queen size full beam VIP guest cabin shares an ensuite with a twin bunk cabin and the generous twin guest stateroom has its own ensuite. The 5th cabin is aft and is the most luxurious crew quarters I have seen, with twin bunks, (one of which is transverse), and the same marble and ceramic finishes/ separate shower & toilet in the head as the rest of the boat. Throughout all of these rooms, there is good ventilation via opening port lights, aircon and heating, wardrobe /storage space, TV’s, and they all feel spacious with good headroom. The crew quarters has a Miele washer/ dryer and leads through to the pristine engine room, which would have to be a mechanics dream; plenty of lighting, space and headroom around the engines, good access to all through hull fittings, strainers, filters, pumps, batteries, auto fire, Onan 22.5kw genset, water maker and other systems; there is even a small work bench and you could literally eat off the floor, as I said this is one well looked after boat. When it comes to the electrical system, it can only be described as a work of art; the colour coded wiring is labelled at both ends and every junction, access hatches throughout the boat allow changes to be made easily and the switch board layout make the tech junkie in me drool, you have to see it to believe it! The massive swim platform has a 4m Caribe centre console RIB, with 30hp Honda, on an easy cradle set up, including removable stern rails. The tender is launched via a davit crane installed on the top deck that also has space for a small jet ski underneath it. There are so many extras that have been installed along the way such as; additional bladder tanks to boost water storage by 3300 litres, extra electric engine/thruster control points that allow remote single handed docking and custom covers to protect the various outdoor lounge cushions. Quality branded components throughout from the Tecma waste system, Maxwell anchor winch, Xantrex inverter, Bose entertainment, Brema icemaker and Grohe tap wear tells a story of uncompromised quality. If you have been looking around for something of this type and been considering Horizon, Johnson or Grand Banks – you need look no further. This owner personally attended the factory every month during construction and no stone was left unturned, she is a real beauty that deserves your attention.
