Main Features
Steel Sloop, Kaufman 36, perfect bluewater cruiser, well set up , full of equipment and a bargain!

Steel sloop, Kaufman 36, launched 1982, Volvo Penta 40 HP, shoal draft, beautifully built as a serious passage maker with a solid wheel house over the helm and companion way and numerous features for shorthanded sailing over long distance. Deck stepped aluminium mast with compression post, stainless rigging, stainless chain plates and full height masts steps, almost new main sail, headsail and boom bag, spare headsails and set up for spinnaker use with one kite in the wardrobe, Comprehensive electronics with Navman GPS, Navman autopilot, Raymarine log & depth and Simrad wind instruments, icom HF radio with auto backstay antennae, VHF, Suunto compass, and numerous other nav gear including a full set of charts, books and table items such as dividers and parallel rulers etc.. This is all powered by 4 recently upgraded house batteries and a separate engine crank battery with battery monitor & inverter, all kept charged via the solar panels and small 240V charger. The stainless davits are home to a quicksilver tender with Tohatsu outboard, stainless BBQ , various antennas and the solar panels. The sailing set up is all very easy, with a wide traveller track on top of the wheel house roof including a small winch to crank on the main, big self tailing primary winches at the back, long track cars to tweak the heady and 3 halyard winches and furling headsail. The running rig is in good condition requiring very little upgrade to go on a serious trip and of course the windex sit atop the mast to keep you honest. . Other often forgotten extras include spreader lights, solid grab rails, stanchions and lifelines, late model newer deck hatches, mooring boards, plenty of cleats and boxes of spare everything from blocks to fastenings, fittings, paint and engine parts hidden throughout the boat with plenty of safety gear including an epirb, emergency tiller, big Muir horizontal anchor winch, spare anchors and a life raft. The fully enclosed companionway offers great protection from the elements with good headroom and visibility, the clever steering wheel holder in the companion way roof top allows plenty of social space when at anchor or in the marina and storage in this area is plentiful. Down below access to the diesel motor is easy, as is access to the steering gear batteries, shaft gland, pumps and other machinery, storage abounds throughout the cabin and galley making this boat perfectly suitable as a live a board option. There are bunks for 5 with a nav berth, two singles in the saloon and a big double v-berth, the head is big for this size of vessel and has a manual toilet, sink and hot and cold pressure water shower, and the salon berths have lee cloths and there are flyscreens on board designed to fit into the companion way and hatches, two good signs for those looking for a good offshore cruiser. The galley consists of plenty of storage, a 2 burner gas stove, gas oven, gas detector, and stainless sink with flick mixer, reasonable bench space and an electric fridge situated under the nav table. There are so many other good reasons why this boat is a winner, not least the price. It is an Australian registered ship, incredibly solid construction, well maintained and set up ready for the voyage of a lifetime. Be quick, this won’t last long!
